Momos are incomplete without a serving dip/chutney.
Recently we shared a recipe for veg steamed momos. Hence we present to you, its counterpart🤣. The chutney!
We have come up with not one, but 3 recipes, plus more quick suggestions  for sauces to go with your homemade momos. They are all easy and super yum.
Some of these are quick, others are super quick 😜. Make one or more to suit everyone’s palette in the house.
Recipe 1 :
Ingredients:
- 2 Red tomatoes
- 6-7 Dried red chillies
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Take water in a small pan.
- Add tomatoes and red chillies into the water and start boiling.
- Boil it for 5 minutes or until the skin of the tomatoes start to peel off.
- Take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit.
- Peel the tomatoes.
- Transfer the peeled tomatoes, chillies and garlic into a mixer jar and grind them together.
- Add salt, sugar and vinegar and grind for a few more seconds.
- Voila! Spicy garlic chutney is ready.
If the chutney is too thin for you, add 2-3 almonds and grind it in the chutney. If its too thick, add a little splash of water. You can take the water in which you boiled your tomatoes, its both tasty and nutritious.

Recipe 2 :
Ingredients:
- Onion, Finely chopped – 1
- Garlic, finely chopped – 6 to 7 cloves
- Vegetable oil – 2 Tbsps
- Soy sauce – 2 Tbsps
- Chili flakes – 2 Tbsps (or according to how spicy or less spicy u want
- Tomato sauce – 2 tbsp
- 3-4 Tomatoes (Blanched & pureed)
- Salt
Instructions:
- Take a pan & fry the chopped garlic for few seconds.
- Put chopped onions in it & fry it for few seconds to a min.
- Add soy sauce, chilli flakes, ketchup and tomato puree and mix.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes until perfect consistency is achieved.
- Add a pinch of salt after tasting because soy sauce & ketchup already have salt in them.

Recipe 3 :
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp Schezwan sauce
- 1 tsp Garlic, minced and crushed
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Spring onion, finely chopped
Instructions:
You don’t have to cook this one. Just take all ingredients in a bowl and mix together. It makes for a nice dip. The schezwan & soy sauce has enough seasoning so you don’t need more salt or pepper. If you want, you can add some red chili powder or even chili oil.

More suggestions to serve your momos with:
- Good old plain Mayonnaise
- Chili Mayo
- Simple schezwan sauce/chutney
- Mix soy, lemon juice and chillies like a quick dipping sauce.
So get cooking and make your momos with these sauces & dips.
